Summary:

As the Director of Operations, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our Biometric Business Unit's Public segment. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Operations in the Biometric BU, you will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and foster sustainable growth. Your leadership and managerial skills will be instrumental in coordinating cross-functional teams, aligning goals, and ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations.

The Director of Operations will contribute to elevating Customer Satisfaction and enhancing Operations Efficiency through focused Supply Chain management, Cross Functional Order Issue Resolution, Inventory Control, Cost management, and PPV management. Additionally, you will collaborate with Sales and Planning to align operations revenue by conducting regular analyses of revenue, order backlog, and future orders to project month-end revenue position and inventory projection. The role will also emphasize data-driven decision-making through Pareto and Trend Analysis, ensuring continuous improvement in On Time Delivery, Inventory Management, and Cost control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop operational strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Assess and identify areas for improvement in operational processes, policies, and systems.
  • Create and implement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality while reducing costs.
  • NPI coordination for purchasing, forecast, and capacity.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide strong leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit, train, and develop talented individuals to build a high-performing operations team.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering team on VA/VE programs.
  1. Process Optimization:
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of existing processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
  • Implement process improvement methodologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and eliminate redundancies.
  • Resource management to ensure smooth operation of shipment.
  • Participate in S&OP process and provide guidance to Supply Chain as necessary.
  1. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure operational performance.
  • Monitor and analyze operational data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting operational performance and challenges.
  • Manage monthly Inventory projection for the product line.
  1. Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify operational risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Implement robust internal controls and procedures.
  • Lead the Ops team for any Quality related issues with Engineering.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including executives, department heads, and external partners.
  • Build strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Communicate operational updates, challenges, and strategic plans to stakeholders.
  • Lead for ops on any acquisition activities.

Education / Experience, Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • BS in Business or Industrial Engineering with a preference for planning & logistics management.
  • Planning accreditations such as APICs certification in Supply Chain Management is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of supply chain/planning experience required.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP programs required.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile PLM is required.
